Help Needed for Flooding Victims in Philippines

September 27, 2009 | Posted by luracolor

Dear Brethren in Christ,

The whole Filipino nation is shocked at the flooding that has paralyzed Metro Manila and 25 nearby provinces. There are thousands of people who remain stranded in their rooftoops, exposed to the elements. Rich and poor families have been in their rooftops for as much as 24 hours. There are just not enough rubber boats; jetskis, dinghies, pump boats are being mobilized to help. Watch the news and the Filipino channels and the magnitude of this catastrophe will begin to sink it. It is unbelievable. It has been likened to Katrina hitting New Orleans, yet on a much wider scale, involving many more people. The estimated number of families and fatalities has yet to be made but this are expected to be in the hundreds of thousands affected. http://philippinemissionaryacademy.shutterfly.com/reliefministry

Please help the victims of the typhoon Ondoy through us - the Philippine Missionary Academy Baguio. Our interns and I are eager and ready to go down to Manila to bring your help and distribute relief goods (dry clothes, medicines, can goods, hard boiled eggs, cookies, bottled water and anything to eat). Definitely this will be of great help brethren.

I know dry areas like church's buildings, schools, hospitals and even houses to become drop off/distribution/refugee centers. We are encouraging individuals from here and local congregations to organize their own small way of helping-many ripples will cause a wave of love and concern to reach the needy. We need your prayers and your donations brethren. We ask you to be the source of ripples of love that will show how God's people care. Please send your cash or in kind donations to:
