PS: Great news for overseas voters: The Philippine government, in response to our appeals, has made voting in Philippine elections much easier now for overseas Filipinos. They have deleted the provision that requires voters to return to the Philippines in 3 years, and COMELEC has changed our description from “Absentee Voters” to “Overseas Voters”. We are still fighting COMELEC’s recent decision to eliminate 250,000 overseas voters who registered and did not vote in the last national elections. As you may know, our national organizations (NAFFAA and USP4GG) have fought all the way to the Supreme Court (and won) for the right to vote for overseas Pinoys. And we here in Texas have worked so hard to register the largest number of Filipino voters among non-consulate states. We are asking for another chance for those who registered and did not exercise their right in the last elections. Send us an email if you have any questions or suggestions.
